The Chicago-based design and manufacturing company Modernplum consulted with Alyssa Burns Communications on the development and execution of public relations and marketing materials to launch a new line of premium linen bedding.  A point of differentiation for Modernplum is that it is one of the few textile companies to keep production stateside in the U.S.A. The independent, privately-held textile product company made its debut to the wholesale market at the at New York NOW Trade Show, a wholesale products and innovative designs show held in New York City. Alyssa served as a company spokesperson at the show, connecting the CEO with media and generating interest in several media outlets, including Remodelista, Modern Luxury magazine, House & Home magazine, and Better Homes & Gardens.

MODERNPLUM ANNOUNCES A NEW LINE OF PREMIUM LINEN BEDDING AND TABLETOP PRODUCTS MADE IN THE USA

CHICAGO, August 17th, 2014 — Modernplum, a new Chicago-based design and manufacturing company announces its new bedding and tabletop product line that consists of eight collections available at modernplum.com. The premium items are manufactured in Chicago and made from European linen. Modernplum is one of the few textile companies to keep production stateside. Says company founder, Allison Warren “keeping Modernplum’s production close ensures our focus on quality and supports the local economy, while keeping a smaller carbon footprint.”

The idea for the line came when Warren sourced items for a mid-century modern home that had fresh looks, were made of premium natural materials and were made to last. “All our products evolved from a gap in the marketplace for items that fit these criteria” said Warren.

Linen is a defining feature of the line. It was selected for its durability, softness, sustainability and hygienic properties relative other popular textiles. Linen fibers, made from the flax plant, require far less pesticides, fertilizers and water to grow than cotton, and its durability stands up well to daily use and years of laundering. Linen’s distinctive open weave encourages circulation and keeps the body cooler than cotton bedding, while being an effective insulator of heat in the winter.

Modernplum offers a contemporary take on bedding and tabletop design. “All of the collections feature subtle but distinctive design details such as wider collars, reversibility, and internal french seams that are hallmarks of the brand,” said Warren. Our products are designed to mix and match within a varied array of design schemes and styles. Colors are inspired from nature and include ink blue, slate, mint green, and warm browns.”

The collection is available on-line at www.modernplum.com. For more information, contact the company at aw@allisonwarren.com, call 248-701-3599 or visit the website at Modernplum.com.
